Some legislators refused furlough days

The original post here was a piece-meal, breaking account of this story. So I'm replacing it with a link to the better crafted story I've written for The Telegraph:
Seven state legislators, including Macon legislators David Lucas and Robert Brown, avoided furlough days last year as their colleagues and state employees took days off without pay.

Im trying to figure this one out. I had no choice with my furlough, they took my money. Isn't that what should have happened with them. Regardless of whether or not they took the day off, the payroll stuff should have been handled. This is one odd story.

Your job's not in the Constitution, my friend. And thank goodness. We don't seem to need more of those.
