This is Rick Goddard's new ad here in the 8th.
It made me wonder: Where do campaigns get all this stock footage from? Is there a database somewhere with video of "construction guy using a grinder" and "old white dude fishing with grandchild?"
UPDATE from the comments: Yes, those do look like stock footage. There are companies that provide these to production companies and TV stations on a "buy out" basis meaning that once you have purchased them there are no more royalties to pay.
That sounds about right. Plus, it's from a guy named "BamaFan92." Jay Barker would never lie to us.

While I am a conservative and intend to vote for Mr. Goddard, I would question the claim that he is going to "take charge" once he gets to Congress. The very nature of both houses of Congress is one of consensus building so that no one person is "in charge". Last time I checked that claim could only be made from one branch of the government and even that office is subject to checks and balances.
I find it funny that any of the politicians claim to be able to single-handedly do anything.
No, no, going from major general in charge of an air logistics center to one of 435 members of the House of Representatives should be an easy transition.
Green Congresspersons don't immediately go to consensus building. First they get stuck in the quagmire of the status quo. Then they raise money and become corrupt in the process because being non-corrupt in Congress has been outlawed.
No my name is not Jay Barker (although I was in Spanish 2 with his sister back in High School and my younger brother was in the school choir with him).
The name is merely a recall of the last time Alabama won one of its 12 National Championships. (Although I am not one of the fans that think just because we beat Clemson, Tulane, and Western Kentucky means we will play for one this year.) I know this is a Georgia heavy blog and I have nothing against Georgia. In fact, I cheer for them any time they play (unless they are playing Bama). Especially if they are playing Auburn or Tennessee.
I think that both schools have similar histories and are fine institutions. That being said, I hope we mop the floor with those Dawgs on the 27th. We probably won't but it is fun to dream.
Love your posts even though I disagree with you about 75% of the time.
I've always like the Georgia-Alabama rivalry, if you can call it that.
Given that we both hate Auburn, there's a lot of shared ground.
I just hope Goddard’s consultants stay way from old school rhetoric of “liberal Democrats” this and that because he could benefit from Democrats who feel Marshall is ignoring Obama and the Dem Team.
After learning last week that Obama/Biden was pulling money out of Georgia, my first thought (as a moderate African American Dem) was that we could win this state if Marshall got with the program like Reps. Barrows and Bishop.
There goes Georgia and maybe the election but what gets my goat is that Marshall will get those new voters that Team Obama is signing up from Covington to Moultrie—that’s not right. New voters will assume that the “D” next to Marshall’s name means he was down with the change cause.
We know you Macon folks love your former mayor but in the southern part of the state, “that dog won’t hunt.”
